House Built with Wisdom

Updated: Apr 14, 2020

"The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands."

Proverbs 14:1

Women birth and breed lives. They build families, communities, states, and nations. They are the mind, the sense, the consciousness, and the power behind societies and cultures. Depending on how they use their God given gifts, they possess the ability to make or break.

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Matthew 7:24‭-‬27

In these two scriptures, we see that wisdom is the principal thing a solid, stable, and enduring house (life) can be built - wisdom, not of this world, but of the Word of God. The word of God by itself doesn't build, it is the obedience of a man or woman that activates divine wisdom, in the Word of God.

The wisdom of the world which relies on statistics and current events says, there's no storm coming, and there has not been any recent danger, so there is no need to sacrifice so much time and resources in digging deep to build on the rock; it is quicker, cheaper, and more financially rewarding to build on sand - just make sure it is done well.

The man or woman with the wisdom of God says: even though I don't understand why I am told to do this, for there is no physical evidence to support it, if God who knows tomorrow says I should do it or not do it, I better believe and obey Him. So I will use all the expensive ingredients of wisdom God has commanded me to use in building - patience, goodness, love, joy, peace, faithfulness, goodness, gentleness, self-control & kindness.

Galatians 6:22-23

Only the tests of time and trouble will show the difference between a house built on sand and a house built on rock. Sometimes we don't live long enough to see the end result, but do not wait to find out what it would be like in the future. Believe divine warnings and obey God so that your life, home, family, and posterity can withstand the tests of time and trouble.

Notes to consider:

  • Be obedient

  • Learn and take time to build your house on the nine pillars of wisdom, the fruit of the Holy Spirit

  • Though women are the architects of the structures, it takes both men and women to build a balanced life, home, family, or society.

  • A WOMAN WITH DIVINE WISDOM IS THE HEART AND HAND OF A MAN WITH THE FEAR OF GOD; SHE'S INCREDIBLY POWERFUL!
